Volunteer! Opportunities to support the V&E Greenline are available for everyone, whatever your ability, skills, availability, or interests.

Volunteers are a vital part of our organization. As a 100% volunteer organization we rely on members of the community to work together to care for the trail’s maintenance and development.  The V&E Greenline has partnered with the Memphis-based non-profit Volunteer Odyssey to help our efforts with recruiting volunteers.  If you are interested in getting involved, please link to our Volunteer Odyssey page and click “Become A Member.”  You will get updates on all our involvement opportunities and will have the option to register for our events.

There are several ways you can get involved:

Volunteer Events

We offer volunteer events throughout the year. Check out our event calendar below to find a time that works for you. Come out with us to care for the trail, meet other volunteers, enjoy nature, and learn more about trail areas and amenities.

Time Commitment: Events are usually 2-3 hours

Group Events

We love partnering with companies, organizations, community groups, colleges, churches, and schools to offer volunteer events. We have many on-going tasks that are perfect for groups and we can help you design an experience or contest for your group.

Time Commitment: 2-3 hours

  • Join our team of regular maintenance volunteers by committing to a monthly task on the trail.  Examples include mowing or weed eating a section of the trail; clearing debris from ditches; picking up trash and emptying garbage cans.  This is the perfect option for volunteers who live near the trail and want to be a part of its continued beautification.  Please fill out this form or email vegreenline@gmail.com to get involved.  A volunteer coordinator will get in touch with you soon to discuss opportunities.

  • Sign up and come out to one of our monthly Second Saturday Family Volunteer Days where we take on smaller tasks that only require a few hours and are perfect for the whole family to do together! See the calendar below to register.

  • Become a part of the V&E Greenline Committee that oversees all of the behind the scenes activities that help keep the trail safe, clean, and enjoyable for everyone - and help plan for the trail’s future.

Volunteer Matching Grants

Many employers in the area will make a donation based on the number of hours you volunteer for non-profit organizations like the V&E Greenline when you volunteer! Ask your human resources department about it and if they are not, ask them to start!
